New York Hipsters Attempt to Defend Capital from Anarchists, Get Hit
"daring (and dashing) young urban professionals defend a soho american apparel under attack by anticapitalists.
On May 1, the police arrested 5 persons of seemingly anarchist descent on suspicion of hooliganism after 3 patrons of the SoHo American Apparel bravely responded to a broken window by threatening to "fuck everyone up" and then just calling the cops. We were those brave patrons. This is a call to defend capital.
This is a call to all of my well tanned, gym going, condo owning/leasing brothers and sisters to defend the stores we love from a rising tide of anticapitalism. To all wall street analysts, advertising professionals, celebrities, journalists of a certain caliber, famous chefs, legacies, and confused members of the middle class. Do you want your luxurious lifestyle to go away? Your Gaps and American Apparels? Your iPhones and iPads? Do you want to be equal to the guy who makes your latte?
No?
Then Defend Capital!
Cause thats what these anarchist or communist or whatever the fuck they are punks want.
So Defend Capital from gross crust punks that are always ruining my day by asking me for change when I try to hang out on St. Marks. Defend capital from shoplifters and worker sabotage (snitch on your coworkers!). Defend Capital from student protesters, insurgents, taliban, Al qaeda and all the other terrorist assholes on teh news. Defend Capital from its own youth, who've learned to hate it so passionately.
But most of all be prepared to Defend Capital from those who have none, because they are coming for us.
- Defend Capital"
--------------------
Remember those faces, all you NYC folks. Did love to see those cops NOT respond when an anarchist straight up socked that idiot in the face. Good riddance, hipster scum, see you next year.
Solidarity to all the May Day insurrectionaries. From the news reports, it appears to have been a good year for the resistance.

Teen Held at Gun Point, Pistol Whipped After Being Accused of Snitching

-The American corporate media is running through the "snitch label is hurting communities omg the violence" gauntlet once again following violence in Chicago. None of these articles discussed community solutions to crime, nor addressed the sometimes disproportionate State responses either; instead simply concentrating on how the authorities need to step up their presence. Likely a push for iWatch and more fusion centers spying on citizens with impunity.
-The Canadian newspaper the National Post ran a story about the ineffectiveness and notorious unreliability of jailhouse snitches. It is an incredibly interesting read, especially when transcribing the situation into outside-prison experiences. Most informants are paid in some way, and the motivation for prison snitches and paid rats on the outside is exactly the same.

Corrupt Military Contractor Threatened Witnesses
A military contractor under investigation on allegations he overbilled and did faulty repair work on Navy and Army aircraft has been charged with threatening to kill witnesses in the case, according to a complaint unsealed Thursday.Keith E. Shaw, owner of Shaw Aero Instruments in Louisville, traveled to Tennessee to buy explosives as part of a plot to blow up his former business partner's plane, according to an affidavit filed in federal court by an investigator for the U.S. Department of Defense.
Even the contractor's son was worried about what this guy could do. Mr. Shaw REALLY didn't want his profits fucked with, apparently. Sounds familiar.
A fourth informant, Shaw's 21-year-old son Nathan, told Camper that in December 2008 Shaw offered him $100,000 to kill Dickinson and Brown and delivered him a .308 sniper rifle, sophisticated scope and tripod, Camper said."It was his father's intention to have him use the rifle to kill Dean Dickinson and Andrew Brown," Camper said.
This guy was real old school, even contemplating poisoning his enemy's wine collection or kidnapping an enemy and his daughter, forcing them to fornicate on film and using it for blackmail. I guess no-bid contracts make people do crazy things.

Woman Looking at 20 Years for Threatening Rat Brandon Darby

This whole case makes SnitchWire feel ill and the only solace is in that the stupid corporate media mentioned Darby still lives just outside Austin, Texas. Don't talk to Brandon Darby.

Denver Private Investigator Shot Four Times
The operative – whose name is withheld here for his safety - told officers he was conducting an investigation regarding possible insurance fraud. Court records indicate he was working for Pinnacol Assurance, Colorado’s largest worker’s compensation insurance provider. It regularly retains private investigators to watch employees who have submitted worker’s compensation claims, to try to obtain video documenting that the employee is not injured, not injured as severely as they claim, or not hampered by the injury in the way they claim. What an asshole! After Marshall Lawson fired his .22 at "a bear," he was subsequently arrested after the PI (unnamed) drove back into town, realized he had nearly been killed, and called the police. Lawson is being held on first degree attempted murder charges with bond set at $150,000. Fucking bears.

Juarez Cartel Lieutenant-turned-CI Slain in El Paso, TX

Galeana was a legal immigrant to the US, likely fleeing into the country in an effort to escape persecution from enemies as well as the Mexican authorities. Residency in the US by cartel members is becoming a more common practice, which may lead to more violence spilling across the border. Galeana's eight gunshot wounds were probably inflicted at close range, indictating that he may have been found out to be working as a CI and that the cartel sent assassains to dispatch him. This is perhaps the first time a ranking cartel member has been capped on US soil.
Teenager Murdered by IRA Vindicated
Family members also contend that although Teggert was 15 years old, he had "the mental age of a child." Although in this instance it is easy to cast the IRA as monsters, consider that aside from their nationalistic struggle, the IRA took great care in prisoner support. Screaming "I am going to tell on youse" to guerrilla combatants in an occupied country generally means death; mind of a child or not. The misunderstanding that followed is unfortunate, but not hard to see the logic in. Perhaps more detective work on behalf of the IRA could've benefitted all parties involved.News reports from the time said that Bernard had seen IRA members hijacking a beer lorry and after witnessing them hold a gun to the driver's head he shouted at them to leave the man alone. A relative interviewed in 2004 said the boy had shouted: “I am going to tell on youse.”
When soldiers coincidentally arrived on the scene and captured the IRA members, it appeared that Bernard was later blamed.

'Rachel's Law' Enacted
"Police agencies, who originally opposed the legislation can no longer promise more lenient sentencing for cooperating. It also requires them to consider age, maturity, and whether a person is in a court ordered drug program."
Analysis on the precedent this sets for the use of informants and snitches tomorrow once I can read more about the bill. What this could possibly mean for trials in the radical community, provided similar laws are enacted in other states or at the federal level, could be huge.
More soon, and check out Crimethinc's final report on the R/DNC mobilizations last summer which linked to SnitchWire as a resource! Thanks Crimethinc for helping get the word out!

Government Snitch Catches Bullets in Philippines
There are signs of a global rice shortage, likely due to malevolent speculation leading to hoarding and skyrocketing prices. Rice smuggling has become a hotbutton political issue in Asian countries, prompting a dangerous, cartel-like reaction by smuggling rings. In the Philippines, the state infrastructure is also partially to blame, as inadequate transportation leads to a 25% production loss to crop yields. As unstable governments attempt to combat rampant smuggling, expect an escalation in the use of informants and perhaps in violence as well. Food shortages are never pretty.
